Looking to boost your business leads?

One of the most cost-effective ways to generate leads is to leverage your social media platforms. Over 3 million people in the U.S. use social media. That’s a lot of potential customers! No matter what type of business you have, there are bound to be people on social media who are interested in what you have to offer.

But, if you want your social initiatives to work, you need to put in the work. Effective lead generation requires spending significant time on strategy. When creating marketing plans for our clients, we like to focus on the 5 Ws (and an H):

  • Who – Who are you trying to reach?
  • What – What services or products are you trying to sell?
  • Where – Where does your target audience hang out? Facebook? Instagram? LinkedIn?
  • Why – Why should customers choose you over your competitors?
  • When – When is the best time to post? How often should you post?
  • How – How are you going to engage your audience? Image? Video? Blog Content?

Exploring the answers to these questions, will help drive your social media strategy.

How to Attract Leads

Now that you are armed with the information to drive strategy, you need to develop a plan of action. Here are some of the social media strategies we have found beneficial in our lead generation initiatives:

Find Your Audience

Finding the right platform for your ideal audience is imperative. Consider your demographic. Are they on Facebook or Instagram or both? If you’re a B2B, or are looking for strategic partners, then LinkedIn may be an ideal option. Don’t overlook niche groups as they may be great lead generation tools.

Create Engaging Content

Take time to craft your messaging. You only have a second to capture someone’s attention as they scroll through their feed. Make sure the wording of your posts resonates with your audience. Use imagery and video to catch their eye. Make your content clickable – you want to entice people to visit your website – by offering tips, showcasing projects, and highlighting the latest industry trends.

Lead Them to User-Friendly Landing Pages

Sending people to your website to learn more about your services and products is key – but you don’t want to disappoint them when they arrive. Make sure that your website provides the information visitors are expecting to see and that it is in an inviting, easy to scan, and simple to read format.

Spend on Advertising

If you want to reach more than your followers, you will need to spend some money. Boosts, promotions, and ads can all exponentially expand your visibility across social media platforms. We have found that even the smallest of investments can make a significant impact.

Engage with Them

Be sure to monitor your social media channels for comments and questions. You want to engage with your audience, thanking them for compliments and providing them with information they are seeking. Our clients have many leads come through the social media messaging features.

Optimize Your Profiles

Be sure to include your website, phone number, address, and business description – make it easy for people to find and contact you.

Maintain an Active Presence

If you are going to be on social media, then you need to remain active. Post frequently across your platforms. A stale page will not help to drive leads.

Measure Your Efforts

Monitor insights and analytics to determine the results of your social media marketing initiatives. By identifying which posts drove leads and which missed the mark, you can pivot as needed and devise more optimal strategies.

If this all sounds positive, but you don’t think you have the time or the capabilities to manage it all, reach out to learn more about our social media management services.
